The climate is tempered by the Gulfstream which runs up the Straits of Florida between the Bahamas and the southern U.S.. When it is very hot in Florida, it is generally 5-10 degrees cooler in Abaco. When it is very cold in Florida, it is generally 5-10 degrees warmer. Average rainfall is between 50 and 60 inches annually.
