Great Abaco ferry - fast and nice
Great Abaco ferry is foranyone. If you're of an adventurous frame of mind, and have time to spare, you can revert to the mode of transportation that islanders used before the advent of air travel: Great Abaco ferry and the traditional mailboats.
Although fast, modern, air-conditioned Great Abaco ferry now make some of the trips, some of the more remote destinations are still served by slow, old-fashioned craft with few amenities. Within the $loc ferry, it has the most, and most comfortable, options for island-hopping, that offer food and beverages served by cabin attendants.

Great Abaco ferry advices
As with most things in the Great Abaco, schedules do change rather frequently; if you're planning to Great Abaco ferry back to an island check and double-check the departure times, and build in extra time in case the weather's bad.
Great Abaco ferry serve most of the major tourist destinations from Great Abaco. The ferry costs around $110 one-way, and takes about two hours each way.
Usually, the shorter-haul ferry makes several round-trips daily, and keep a more punctual schedule than the longer-haul ferry. |

Great Abaco ferry - a good transportation choice
Mostly, you'll get around with Albury's Ferry Service, which provides several ferry connections between Marsh Harbour and both Elbow Cay (Hope Town) and Man-O-War Cay, a 20-minute trip to either destination. The one-way fare is $15 adults, $7.50 for children 11 and younger. (Ferries also go to Guana Cay.) The ferry docks are not far from the Marsh Harbour Airport; it's about a 10-minute, $13 to $14 cab ride for two passengers (plus $3 for each additional passenger). For car-ferry service to Green Turtle Cay, see the section, "Green Turtle Cay (New Plymouth)," later in this chapter. Ferries go from Great Abaco Island to Green Turtle Cay, but those docks are a 35-minute $70 cab ride for up to four passengers from the Marsh Harbour Airport. It's better to fly to Treasure Cay rather than Marsh Harbour to do this, and then take a taxi to the ferry docks.
